“Rzeczpospolita” publication on energy price increases in 2019

“Rzeczpospolita” returns to the topic of increasing energy and gas prices for business customers, the actions taken by sellers and the preparations of customers.
– The rate for 1 MWh (with delivery for next year – ed.) for an industrial company consuming over 20 GWh of electricity per year does not fall below PLN 340-350/MWh, while a year ago it was PLN 205-210/MWh. A smaller entrepreneur, but also requiring a large amount of energy for production, must take into account the price of PLN 380-390/MWh compared to PLN 240-250/MWh a year ago – said Michał Suska from Energomix, quoted by “Rzeczpospolita”.

Tauron reminds that most of its large customers have individually negotiated energy purchase terms, in which the moment of concluding the contract and the method of settlement are important. Tariffs for the entire business increased by 11%, according to the company. PGE Obrót, along with the price list in October, has prepared promotions that may lower the rate compared to the price list. Small and medium-sized companies were offered offers based on TGE indices – we read in “Rzeczpospolita”.

PGNiG, in turn, points out that thanks to promotions for the vast majority of business customers, the gas sales price has increased by less than 5% since the beginning of the year.

Entrepreneurs themselves monitor the situation on the energy exchange. Some are considering tranche purchases for 2019, where the price from the previous month is the determinant.
